I Dream of (being) Hagman

Television has lost an icon.and i have lost an idol. Yesterday star of the small screen Larry Hagman passsed away at 81. When i was a 10 year old boy with dreams of becoming the next great actor, there were three tv idols that i looked to for inspiration. 1)Susan Lucci 2) Joan Collins and 3) Larry Hagman. I dreamt of one day becoming the black JR Ewing. I remember when he returned to tv as Luther Charbonnet in "Orleans". i was ecstatic.  When he guest starred on my favourite soap Desperate Housewives, I couldn't wait. And everytime i see a rerun of I dream of Genie, I realize how hot Larry was back in the 60's.  I suppose when i starred in Hells Gate some part of me channeled JR. But i was most happy when DALLAS 2.0 premiered on TNT, not just because there was a new primetime soap on tv, but because JR was back on tv. and it reminded me of being a boy staying up past his bedtime, full of hopes and dreams. Thank you Larry Hagman, thank you.
